Abstract: "Research in the Service of Education" is SCRE's motto, now as almost 70 years ago. The Scottish Council for Research in Education (SCRE) is an independent national body. Its aims are to conduct and communicate research to support policy-making and practice in education and to assist others (including teachers and policymakers) to make the most effective use of research methods and research-based information.
